Frequently Asked Questions

The More You Know

What is the difference between the Goffstown United Soccer Club program and Tri-Town Recreational Soccer Program?

Goffstown United Soccer club is a more competitive travel program than the Tri-Town Soccer recreational program.   The GUSC involves a higher degree of commitment, with players selected through tryouts, attending two practices per week, with both home games in Goffstown and away games in NH.  The Tri-Town recreation program focuses on providing an opportunity for all kids to play team soccer, where players are assigned a team with typically one practice per week, and all games are played in Goffstown. The GUSC travel program focuses on the development of skills while stressing teamwork and sportsmanship.  Our coaches, though volunteers, have all attained applicable coaching certifications in order to coach travel soccer.  GUSC has teams in both the fall and spring seasons, while the Tri-Town recreation program is only during the fall season.  They are two completely different organizations, each with their own Board of Directors.

When are the fall and spring seasons?

The fall season begins in late August and runs through the first weekend of November, while the spring season runs from mid-April through mid-June (depending on weather and field conditions).  Tournaments and playoffs may be available prior, during and following the regular season.

How far away are the games?

Home games are played at Sarette Field in Pinardville during the fall, and either Lions Field or Mountain View Middle School in Goffstown during the spring.  Away games vary from season to season, depending on the brackets.  Each team would play 4 away games with the common locations being in towns such as: Amherst, Bedford, Candia, Derry, Henniker, Hudson, Londonderry, Nashua, Bedford, Pelham, Rochester, Salem.  Occasionally we will have away games in Keene, Belmont, Gilford, Holderness, or Hanover.  It is your responsibility to get your child to the games, no transportation from the club is provided.

Off-Season Opportunities

Goffstown United Soccer Club players are encouraged to play soccer year-round. Both Fieldhouse Sports in Bow and the SportsZone in Derry offer indoor soccer opportunities throughout the year.  Some GUSC coaches organize teams for winter leagues if enough players are interested in participating.

In the winter, many GUSC teams play futsal in the Futsal NH league. Futsal is a very fast-paced version of indoor soccer that emerged in South America and encourages the development of foot skills. For more information about futsal and why it's great for your child's development as a soccer player, visit here. Long-time Tri-Town & GUSC supporter Bruno Victal of Brazilian Art Soccer Training also offers weekly soccer instruction, as well as summer and vacation camps throughout the region. His Saint Anselm College overnight camps are offered in the summer, but players are welcome to sign up for any camp that is convenient for them.

Summer 2022 there is a camp option right here in Goffstown through Brazilian Art. See direct message from BA coach.
